 Elevate Dance Company Auditions

Elevate Dance Company

MV Toros Dancers who have shown the adequate technique for Advanced Dance are invited to audition for MV Toros Dance's very own Elevate Dance Company! It will be an exciting year, full of performance events and skill building, and we're looking for new members to add to our team!

Want to know if the MV Toros Dance Company is right for you?

If you want a place to hang out with friends and socialize while dancing and performing a little, this is probably not the place for you (check out Dance Club!). But, if you are looking for a dedicated group of athletes working to consistently advance their technique and explore storytelling and artistry through movement, you may be a perfect fit!

  Company Audition and Workshop Schedule

The audition for Elevate Dance Company will take place during level auditions in April (and August for new to MVHS students). Dancers auditioning for Company should also prepare a solo for auditions (choreographed by the dancer: 1-2 minutes).

Dancers auditioning for Elevate Dance Company will start with the Level Auditions. In these auditions, you will learn combinations across the floor and in center for your audition in the workshops on Monday and Tuesday. You will audition for a panel of judges on Wednesday, and they will recommend placement. Results will be sent by 8pm on Wednesday.

If you make the cutoff for the Advanced level of dance, you will be invited to come back to learn two new short combos on Thursday to audition on Friday. You will also need to choreograph a solo and show it at the second set of auditions and may show any additional skills or tricks you would like to show at this time (tumbling or technical). Results will be sent by 8pm on Friday.

Dancers will be expected to dress so the judges may best see your movement, and will be scored on presentation and proessionalism, as well as technical and performance skills. Professional dress includes form-fitting dance attire covering ribcage, all hair clean off of neck and shoulders and away from face, and dance footwear or barefoot.
